CarTech · foreword by Ed «Big Daddy» Roth · over 310 photographs · the biography that sorts the legends out
Item no. 100-984-000
Von Dutch was more than a patch on a trucker cap. Kenneth Howard was a beatnik, a pinstriper, a cult figure among hot rodders, surfers and artists of the fifties and sixties — and a gifted machinist, gunsmith and knife-maker besides. Pat Ganahl wrote it down, with quotations from interviews and pictures of the work he left behind.
Because more stories circulate about Von Dutch than documented facts. Ganahl, a historian of hot rodding, follows the contradictions instead of adding to them — and still shows why the legend grew: Howard ended up in a converted bus that served as both home and machine shop.
Used, clean, dust jacket present, block tight.
