A fish-shaped soap on a cord, deep blue, in its original box with fish artwork: Tamanohada «Welcome Soap» from Japan, unopened.

What it is

Tamanohada is a long-established Japanese soap manufacturer. The «Welcome Soap» is meant as a guest gift — it hangs by its cord in the bathroom, gets used, and shrinks into an ever smaller fish. It works just as well hung up and looked at as washed with; most people never use it.
