Description

A stress ball in soft foam — and it is Sigmund Freud: white full beard, hair combed back, brows sternly drawn together. Squeeze it, let go, the head returns to shape by itself.

The joke

The father of psychoanalysis as an anti-stress item: instead of talking about the anger you press it into his head. Freud memorabilia like this has been museum and bookshop merchandise since the nineties — stress balls, action figures, couch cushions.

What it is

Soft closed-cell foam, cast and hand-painted — no wood, no carving. The face is modelled as a caricature: nose and brows exaggerated, the beard picked out in white.
