Fifties · half-closed eyes · red lips
Item no. 030-269-000
Glazed ceramic wall mask: a woman's face with half-closed eyes, red lips and a turquoise scarf running in soft waves around head and neck. The hair pale, almost white.
Ceramic wall masks were standard living-room equipment across half of Europe in the fifties and early sixties — usually slip-cast in series, then hand-painted. They are back now, because they have what flat decor doesn't: a face.
Good. Glaze without major chips, age-typical marks.
