Original from the world's most famous tiki bar · lettered on both sides
Item no. 080-310-000
An original Trader Vic's cocktail pick with a moulded Menehune figure. One side of the shaft reads TRADER VIC'S, the other MENEHUNE.
Victor «Trader Vic» Bergeron opened his first place in Oakland in 1934 and built it into the most influential tiki bar chain in the world. The Mai Tai came from his house (1944) — still disputed with Don the Beachcomber, but Trader Vic's version is the one that stuck. When people say «tiki bar» today, they mean what was invented there.
In Hawaiian tradition the Menehune are little people who work at night and finish whole structures by morning. Trader Vic's made them a house motif — they appear on menus, coasters and, of course, on these picks.
Good, lettering clearly legible, figure complete.
