Description

A carved wooden tiki pendant on a leather cord, around 6 cm high: a face with two large, light inlaid eyes and a broad mouth, surrounded by a field of punched dots. On the back it reads «TIKI HANA».

What is carved

The eyes are inlaid in a light material and toothed with dark notches, so that they jump out of the brown wood. The mouth is worked as a deep, doubled notch. Across the remaining surface runs a grid of dots, punched in and darkened. The pendant is barrel-shaped, so worked on all sides.

Same maker, second piece

The signature «TIKI HANA» also appears on a second pendant in the holding — the light, flat one with the koru spirals. Two works by the same hand, in different materials. Both available separately.

Measured

Around 6 cm high, read off the tape. The tape lies beside it in the second photograph.

Condition
