The cloth volume with the richly gilt spine — «Dr. E. Schertel · Sitte und Sünde». The title page names 239 illustrations in one and several colours plus art supplements, and gives the publisher as Parthenon-Verlag Leipzig.

Schertel's history of morals exists in two worlds: the original Leipzig edition of around 1930 and the Decker reprint of 1967. The reprint sits at 5 to 23 euros, the original at about 80. The imprint of this copy reads «Copyright by Parthenon-Verlag, Leipzig C 1, printed by Leipziger Graphische Werke AG» — that is the original edition.

At the rear there is a publisher's announcement from Tempo-Buchverlag Leipzig for a «second volume in preparation» — a leaf of publishing history that reprints usually lack.
