Description

A bellied silver lidded vessel: the wall is raised into pointed leaf forms closing into a wreath at the top, with a matching knobbed lid. Inside it is smooth and bright.

The mark

A struck mark sits on the underside. It is present and partly readable but too small and too worn to be identified with certainty — so no silver standard and no maker is claimed here. Anyone who reads it under a loupe will know more than this description.

What speaks for silver: the characteristic dark tarnish in the recesses that lifts on polishing, and the weight. Both are visible in the photographs.
