Service bulletins binder 1964 with a hand-written index

A binder of service bulletins from 1964 — the factory's internal circulars to the workshops, together with a hand-written index somebody made to find their way around it.

Service bulletins appear in no manual. When a problem surfaced during a model year, the factory sent a circular to the franchised workshops: revised specifications, new part numbers, corrected repair procedures, warnings about faults that were cropping up in numbers. They are the corrections to the manual — and that is exactly why they solve problems the manual alone will not.

Bulletins were consumables. They arrived loose, got filed, and were thrown out with the next model year. Collected, ordered runs have practically only survived where a foreman took them seriously — and this binder shows it: the index is hand-written so that in an emergency you find what you are looking for fast.
