Description

A leaflet or display stand from a Swiss shopfitter: black-lacquered square tube, five raked wooden shelves, the whole thing on castors. The frame still carries the maker's label «aabbia», 3000 Bern, Stadtbachstrasse, with a telephone number from before the ten-digit era — which puts the piece roughly in the sixties or seventies.

The dimensions were read off a folding rule and photographed alongside; anyone who needs them exact should measure again on handover.

Condition

Used and visibly so: the black lacquer has scratches and chips, mostly along the edges and at the feet. The wooden shelves are clean, the castors roll. Nothing is bent, nothing wobbles.

What for

Built for leaflets and magazines, but with those raked shelves just as useful for records, magazines, books or workshop odds and ends. On castors it never stands permanently in the way.
