The real car

The Superbird is pure aerodynamics, born of the NASCAR rulebook: an extended nose cone and a rear wing on struts over sixty centimetres tall, so the boot lid would still open. Plymouth built just under two thousand to homologate it — and dealers struggled to shift them. Today it is one of the most sought-after American cars of all.

About the range

From the nineties on, Ertl «American Muscle» was the most widespread 1:18 range of US cars: cleanly proportioned, with opening doors, hood and trunk. Not the last word in detail, but solidly built and no longer available new.
