Description

The classic Plymouth dealer banner: the blue script running the full width, with the red device carrying the Mayflower, the sailing ship Plymouth had used since the thirties. Above it the advertising line «out to win you over», with which Plymouth went into the 1970 season. Lower right, the pentastar and «CHRYSLER MOTORS CORPORATION».

Material

White PVC banner with metal eyelets all round. Made for the workshop wall, the garage or the trade stand — hang it and you are done, no frame needed.

Condition

Complete and clean, eyelets firm, no tears. A few fold creases from being packed away are visible, plus light handling marks on the white ground. The colours are full.

Straight about the date

The small print under the Chrysler device reads: «Plymouth is a registered trademark of DaimlerChrysler». That company existed from 1998 to 2007 — so this banner is a licensed reissue from that period, not a 1970 original. The design and the line are period; the object is not. Anyone after an original should keep looking; anyone who wants the wall gets exactly the same effect without the collector's price.
