The classic «needle & ball» from the warbird era: turn & bank indicator by Pioneer Instrument (Bendix, USA), maker's plate on the housing, stamped 1052.

What does it do?

«Needle & ball»: the needle shows how fast the aircraft is turning, the ball whether the turn is coordinated — slipping or skidding? The primal instrument of blind flying.
