Description

A penguin with a bright red beak, white belly and black back, on yellow feet. The wings are attached separately and can be moved.

On the make

The body is cast and painted, the wings sit on pegs and turn in their sockets. Beak and feet are picked out in a strong red and yellow — the colouring of play figures of the fifties and sixties, when animals were still made cheerier than they are. There is no maker’s mark.
