Description

A tiny penguin that does not belong to the brass series: naturalistically modelled, with spread wings, standing feet with toes and a dark patinated surface.

Not part of the series

The four graded brass penguins in the same holding are smooth and reduced to form. This one is the opposite: fully modelled, with the beginnings of plumage, eyes, a beak edge and flared wings. Making and patina recall the cold-painted Vienna bronzes — that cannot be proven, the figure carries no mark.

About the size

The figure is very small — in the photographs it stands on a table top, but there is no tape measure beside it. I am therefore giving no measurement in centimetres. If you need one, just ask and I will measure it.

About the material

Dark patinated bronze or brass, worn bright on the raised parts — beak, wing edges, breast. That is use, not damage.
