Description

A flat limpet shell with a strongly serrated rim: chalk white and rough outside, shimmering with mother-of-pearl inside, with a dark muscle scar in the middle.

What you see

The outside is crossed by strong ribs that run out into sharp points at the rim; on the top sits a brownish, roughened patch. Turn it over and the impression flips completely: the inside is smooth and nacreous, shifting through grey, brown and violet, with a dark oval mark where the animal was attached.
