A model of the Chrysler 426 Hemi on a black base: orange block, black valve covers, chromed air cleaner lid lettered «426 HEMI HEAD», fan, alternator and individually routed plug leads.

The plug leads are routed individually and led into the plug wells, the belt runs over alternator and water pump, the fan has free-standing blades. The base carries the Hemi emblem at the front. This is not a toy but a display model.

Stamped: «HEMI ENGINE · DaimlerChrysler Corporation», «Liberty Classics, Inc · Libertyville IL U.S.A. · Made in China» and «Dodge Hemi © DaimlerChrysler Corporation 2004». So a licensed model by Liberty Classics from 2004.

The 426 Hemi — 7 litres, hemispherical combustion chambers, in racing from 1964, on the road from 1966 — is the engine that made Chrysler’s name in the muscle car years. «Elephant» it was called, because it was so large and so heavy.

There is no photograph with a tape measure for this model, and no scale is stated anywhere on it. So I name none. I will measure it on request.

Good. Complete, nothing broken off, no loose parts. The chrome lid has fine scratches, otherwise clean. Sits firmly on the base.
