A blue disposable lighter with the MOONEYES lettering and the two eyes — the mark that has been stuck to hot rods, dragsters and fuel caps since the fifties.

About the brand

Mooneyes grew out of Dean Moon's shop in Santa Fe Springs: first fuel pumps and wheel discs, then a whole visual language. The yellow eyes are as well known in Japan today as in California. Small items like this lighter are the entry level of the collection — cheap, but unmistakable.

Honest about value

This is a promotional disposable lighter, not a storm lighter and not a mechanical collector's piece. The price reflects that. Whether it still lights has not been tested.
