Description

An owl on its own base: upright, with oversized round eyes and folded wings. Solid brass.

About the material

The surface is brass and has gone lighter on the raised areas — that is how metal behaves when it is handled over years. Whether brass, bronze or brass-plated casting cannot be decided without testing; the weight suggests a solid cast.

Key facts

  • Solid brass, cast
  • Solid cast, distinct weight
  • Owl with oversized eyes
  • Its own base, cast in one
  • Wings folded, plumage suggested
  • No mark or signature

Condition

Good. Complete, no breaks. The base is flat, the figure stands firmly. Surface evenly aged.
