Description

A stylised bronze owl whose head sits on a ball and turns. The eyes are shaped as two bold rings, the body is reduced to a cone, the wings lie flat against it.

The turning head

Head and body are two parts. The head rests on the torso by a ball and can be set as you like — forward, to the side, all the way round. That is what makes the piece: the same owl stares straight at you one moment and turns its back on you the next. Both are shown in the photos.

On the material

Bronze, cast and solid. The surface is dark and has worn lighter on the raised parts — the way metal behaves when it is handled over the years.
