The story of Mopar Super Stock and Factory Experimental drag racing from 1962 to 1969 — told by the people who were there. Jim Schild's sum of forty years with Chrysler race cars.
Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth ruled the quarter mile from the early years on. In 1955 alone the Chrysler 300s won thirty-seven major stock car events and both championships, NASCAR and AAA. Schild traces how that became the golden age of factory racing in the sixties.
Period photographs alongside studio shots of surviving cars. The drivers speak for themselves — they were drag racing's first paid professionals.
Good. Dust jacket clean, lightly bumped at the foot of the spine. Book block firm, clean throughout, no inscriptions.
Out of print and only sporadically offered — and the copies that exist sit well above what a picture book this size usually costs.
