Description

A metal medal struck on both sides, with a suspension loop. One side reads LOCKHEED with SR-71 and the speed record note, the other the route London–Los Angeles with the aircraft's silhouette.

What it stands for

The SR-71 Blackbird is the fastest manned jet aircraft ever built — and it still holds its records. In 1974 an SR-71 flew London to Los Angeles in under four hours; on the way out it had done New York to London in under two. Both marks stand untouched.
