Three instruments from a Link Trainer — the simulator on which generations of pilots learned instrument flying. All marked «LINK TRAINER» on the dial.

What does it do?

The Link Trainer was the first great flight simulator: a training cabin on bellows in which pilots practised instrument flying from the 1930s on, without ever leaving the ground. These indicators sat in the simulator's panel showing the trainee speed, climb and attitude.
