Description

A cone shell with its characteristic fine dotted pattern on a pale ground — a natural specimen, not a reproduction.

What you can read in it

The pattern is different on every shell: the rows of dots form while the animal builds its house outward in a spiral, and every disturbance writes itself in. The tip is the oldest part, the aperture the youngest. Shells like this are found washed ashore; this one is complete, with no predator bore-holes.
