Text by Bob Dylan, photographs by Barry Feinstein · the book that was lost for forty years
Item no. 100-988-000
In the early sixties Barry Feinstein photographed Hollywood from behind — sets, extras, empty streets, people between takes — and Bob Dylan wrote texts to go with them. The book never appeared. The manuscript was thought lost for forty years until it resurfaced and was printed.
Not a picture book with captions but two voices side by side: Feinstein's photographs and Dylan's lines, in the 1964 version. Precisely the moment when both were in the middle of becoming what people later took them to be.
Clean, block tight, boards without knocks.
