Description

The small black book by the Swiss artist duo Peter Fischli and David Weiss, published by Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König. Every page carries handwritten questions in white on black — «Can you see through ghosts?», «Have I never been fully awake?» — one after another, without answers and without comment.

Why it works

The questions come out of daily life and tip without warning into first principles. The format — 11 × 15 cm, jacket-pocket sized — is part of the point: the book is made to be carried, not shelved.
