Description

A repoussé votive heart in metal: a domed heart with a rising flame, surrounded by a finely pierced, partly chased border. Applied to the heart are the letters PGR.

What PGR means

The three letters stand for Per Grazia Ricevuta — «for the grace received». Hearts like this were hung in churches and at pilgrimage sites after an illness, accident or danger had been survived, mostly in Italy. Every one belongs to a story nobody remembers any more.
