vintage fiberglass greige · on newer base
The iconic Eames rocking chair: vintage 2nd-generation fiberglass shell in greige with visible fiber structure, honestly declared on a newer Eiffel rocking base with wooden runners. Rocking since the fifties.
In 1950 Charles and Ray Eames set out to build the best chair for little money — the result was history's first mass-produced plastic chair. At Herman Miller, the rocking RAR was at times reserved as a gift for expecting mothers. This one has been rocking for decades and never regretted it.
Shell with honest patina: surface scratches, a small repair spot in the seat, an old paint splash on the bottom edge — all documented in the photos. Base as new. Sits and rocks flawlessly.
