Description

Slender, dark-patinated wooden figure with a strongly reduced face and arms held close to the body. A drying crack runs right across the head — wood that has worked over decades.

Placing it

Unsigned, no provenance. The form is closed and block-like, without the tell-tale features of any one island group. The age cannot be determined seriously — but the crack and the edge wear speak for several decades.

Condition

Used, with drying crack and edge wear. Stands firmly on its stepped base.
