The 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee in orange, 1:18 by Highway 61 / DCP.

The real car

The Super Bee was Dodge's answer to Plymouth's Road Runner: as much engine, as little equipment and as low a price as possible. The 383 Magnum came as standard, the 440 Six Pack and the 426 Hemi were on the list. The bee badge on the tail and the bumblebee stripe are trademarks to this day.

About the range

Among collectors Highway 61 counts as the more precise address: finer engraving, real fabric and metal parts, correctly reproduced engine bays. The runs were small, and since the brand was discontinued they are markedly harder to find than Ertl.
