The 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T with the 426 Hemi in orange — 1:18 by Highway 61.

The real car

1971 was the last year of the 426 Street Hemi. Only a few hundred Challenger R/Ts of that year were built with it; after that, falling compression ratios and rising insurance premiums finished off the muscle cars. You spot the '71 by the split grille and the four tail lights.

About the range

Among collectors Highway 61 counts as the more precise address: finer engraving, real fabric and metal parts, correctly reproduced engine bays. The runs were small, and since the brand was discontinued they are markedly harder to find than Ertl.
