Description

A small round box of woven natural fibre with a matching lid: very finely coiled, light in colour, with a small knotted knob on top.

How it is made

The weave runs as a tight spiral from the centre outwards, wrapped row by row — a technique that costs a great deal of time and that you recognise at once by its evenness. The lid is worked the same way and sits snugly on the rim. Inside, the box is drawn slightly darker, which is what makes the pattern visible.

About the size

A tape measure does lie in the third photograph, but it is out of focus and unreadable. I am therefore giving no measurement. The box holds about as much as a large coffee cup. I will measure it on request.
