Model HW134 · lava-stone resin · made in Hawaii
Item no. 080-233-000
King Kamehameha I in his feather cloak, cast in Hapa Wood — the mix of ground lava rock and resin that made Coco Joe's famous in Hawaii. Impressed underneath: MADE WITH HAPA-WOOD by COCO JOE'S · MADE IN HAWAII, together with model number HW134.
Coco Joe's produced in Hawaii from the late fifties on — figures were milled from local lava rock and bound with resin, hence the unusual weight and the stone-like surface. Today these pieces run at around 20 to 30 dollars in the US collector market; over here you almost never see them.
Good. Edges lightly rubbed, mark fully legible, no chips.
