Description

A rigged sailing ship inside a bottle lying on a small wooden stand. Hull with a red waterline, masts raised, rigging taut.

How it's done

The trick is as old as the craft: hull and masts are built outside, the masts lie flat on the deck while the model is slid in, then are pulled upright inside the bottle by threads. The guide threads are cut afterwards. Once you've seen it, it's less magic — but no less patient.
