What it is about

Princess Schlafittchen in the kingdom of Schlummerland cannot sleep because bad dreams torment her. Her father sets out to find help and finds the Dream Eater — an odd creature that devours bad dreams if you say the right rhyme. Ende wrote it in 1978; it is one of those books children know by heart before they can read.

About the pictures

Annegert Fuchshuber’s illustrations are half the reason for the book: dense, colourful scenes with many side characters in the margins, in which you still find something new on the tenth reading.
