Description

An embroidered patch for the 60th anniversary of the Hawker Hunter: black field, silver-grey embroidery, at the top «A THING OF BEAUTY», in the middle the aircraft from above and from the front, between them 1951 – 2011, below on a scroll «60 YEARS HAWKER HUNTER».

Why 1951

The Hawker Hunter first flew on 20 July 1951 — by 2011 that was sixty years. For Switzerland the type is not just any: the Swiss Air Force flew Hunters from 1958 to 1994, latterly as ground-attack aircraft, and the Patrouille Suisse flew them as display aircraft until 1994. Anyone who grew up here knows the sound.

Fully embroidered, the edge and the scroll cleanly bound. On the back is the maker’s label: Pinex, CH-9642 Ebnat-Kappel — Swiss made, then.
