Description

A large sticker in the style of the old BSA transfers: a rocket before a red-and-blue globe, above it the winged BSA device and the words «Super Rocket». Around 19 cm high and 9.5 cm wide.

Not hiding that it is a reproduction

From the front the piece looks like an original transfer on translucent paper. It is not: the backing is ORACAL release paper with grid and maker’s print — that is, a modern vinyl in the old look. Anyone after a period part is in the wrong place; anyone who wants the lettering on a toolbox, helmet or tank is in the right one.

Where the motif comes from

The BSA A10 Super Rocket was a 650 twin from Birmingham, built from 1958 to 1963 — the fast version of the A10 range. Rocket and globe were the advertising image for it, in a time when everything had to look like spaceflight.
