Why people wore these

Country pins were part of travelling kit for decades: on the lapel, on the cap, on the rucksack. Anyone abroad wore their origin visibly — and in return collected the pins of the places they visited. This one is the plain version: no coat of arms, no colour, just the name in a gold field.

Gold-coloured metal with recessed lettering, on the back the usual pin and clutch. Cleanly finished, no burr at the edges. Together with the Swiss cross pin from the same holding it makes a pair — both are available separately.
