«Tiki Hana» pendant · carved, on a leather cord

An elongated pendant on a leather cord, carved all over with spirals and arcs in Maori style. On the back, in notched letters, «TIKI·HANA».

The pattern runs over the whole front: at the top a face with two large round eyes, below it koru spirals, and in the lower third a field of fine parallel notches. The back has been left smooth — only the lettering is incised. At the top is a drilled hole through which a round leather cord is threaded and knotted.

The material is light, ivory-coloured, with a brownish edge along the rims. Whether bone, antler or resin — that cannot be decided from a photograph, and so I do not claim it. If you want to know precisely, just ask and I will look at the broken edge close up.

There is no photograph with a tape measure for this piece. The pendant sits comfortably in the palm of a hand, and I will say no more than that — estimated centimetres help nobody. I will measure it on request.

Good. Pattern complete, no chips at the edges. The leather cord is soft and without cracks, the knot holds.
