Description

A peep-show viewer in a television housing: turquoise plastic, curved frame, two knobs and a name plate — «Sieben Geisslein», the seven little goats. The eyepiece with its lens sits on top, the milky «screen» at the front.

How it works

You hold it up to the light and look in from above: the screen glows and shows the pictures of the fairy tale. The knob at the side advances to the next one. Such television viewers were in every toy department in the fifties and sixties — television was new, and this was the version for a child's pocket.

About its origin

The base reads Walter & Prediger GmbH, Kaufbeuren, with a CE mark and a barcode. So this is not a period piece but a reissue in the old design — cleanly made and without age patina, but everything works.

Key facts

  • Picture viewer in TV design, turquoise plastic
  • The tale of the wolf and the seven little goats
  • Eyepiece with lens on top, knob to advance
  • Walter & Prediger GmbH, Kaufbeuren
  • Reissue in 1950s style, not antique
  • Fits in one hand

Condition

Very good, barely used. The housing has no cracks, the lens is clear, the knobs turn freely. The barcode label is still on the base.
