A Franklin Half Dollar 1951.

The coin

Benjamin Franklin on the obverse, the Liberty Bell on the reverse — struck from 1948 to 1963, then replaced by the Kennedy half. Until 1964 US half dollars were 90 per cent silver; after that they were not, which is why exactly these dates were hoarded.
